Quando os Macacos Dominavam a Terra

General info on this great Sci-Fi Saga:

The 1968 film Planet of the Apes chronicles the fall of mankind and the rise of intelligent apes through the points of view of astronaut George Taylor (Charlton Heston), the apes Zira (Kim Hunter) and Cornelius (Roddy McDowall), and their ape son Caesar (also played by McDowall). The original series of five films (1968-1973) were produced by Arthur P. Jacobs, based on Boulle's original novel premise.
This was followed by two television series in the 1970s (one live-action, the other animated).
In 2001, director Tim Burton decided to remake Planet of the Apes (1968) with an entirely new interpretation and state-of-the-art visual effects.
20th Century Fox (the franchise rights holder) has since announced plans for a prequel to the series, called Rise of the Planet of the Apes, for release in 2011. On April 13, 2011, Weta Workshop released a documentary video on the Livestream website about its special-effects work on Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The documentary features an interview with the new film's director, Rupert Wyatt. The film stars James Franco and tells the story of how human society on Earth is overthrown by apes, led by a genetically-altered ape named Caesar, and the ape-dominated society shown in the prior films comes to be. The release date for US theaters was announced as August 5, 2011.
